Our Learning Environment

We’re proud to provide a safe environment for your children to call their "home away from home." We spend our days learning in our indoor space as well as outdoors at the neighbouring Irving Park. Throughout the season we will also visit local playgrounds, nearby beaches, forests and Beacon Hill Park.

Indoor Learning

The rooms of Little Wild Early Learning are filled with age appropriate play materials, some in loose parts form for open ended play and creativity. Our space offers an art room with a wide variety of artistic mediums to work with. We have a separate nap room; a comfortable sleep area where each child can feel secure and safe while they rest. Two main rooms are available to the children to explore and play in, with interest areas set up to suit the curiosities and needs of each child.

Our Approach

Our respectful educational environment keeps the children’s best interests in mind while allowing for hands-on learning. Children are naturally driven to gain a deeper understanding of their interests and are fully capable of constructing their own path of learning. To encourage this, we provide our children with the tools they need to explore and expand upon subjects that are meaningful to them and join them as enthusiastic collaborators and partners in their learning.  By giving them the autonomy and respect that they deserve, we create a nurturing, stimulating and inclusive environment.
For us, it is of the utmost importance to understand who each child is as an individual (including their cultural background and personal learning style). Knowing where they are in their own path of cognitive, social, emotional, language and physical development allows us to provide developmentally appropriate experiences to suit their needs and creates a richer learning experience for them.

Our program offers opportunities for learning through nature, the arts, music/movement and early S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering and maths). Through self guided exploration and discovery alongside positive social interactions, the children of Little Wild Early Learning will be taking the most important first steps towards future happiness and academic success.
